Between school and stadium

The Akademia Los Puma Elite Soccer School will be the first independent, professional football academy, offering an alternative to professional club system.      With support from the European Union Regional Development Funds, the primary goal of the Academy is to offer a genuine route back into professional  football for some of the youngsters discarded by professional system in the form of a residencial   Elite Soccer School.
The launch announcement states that players will be recruited from around the world, especially from Africa, South America and the Far East with a view to making substantial profit by selling the players´ registrations and other economic benefits, such as image rights, to professional clubs. The funds are intended to be used to pour money into smaller clubs who may be in financial difficulties, enabling them to buy or hold on to younger players for longer.
What is an Elite Soccer School?
A large number of the most talented football players have to handle the conflict of their academic commitments clashing with the regular training sessions and other expectations the Academy might have. For this reason it is important to help the youngsters handle the increased burden of achieving both their academic and competitive sporting goals.. In this respect a close cooperation between the football association, the academy, and the school is essential.
The Elite Soccer School lay the foundations for the talented players to cope with and ultimately ease the burden they are confronted with. “The founding of these elite soccer schools is another step towards optimising talent development in the region”. The Programmes offer an excellent entry into a sport coaching career giving players the opportunity   to achieve coaching qualifications, first aid, injury management skills, sport science award and work base learning. Players that are unable to make it into professional football within the shortest possible time  will work with a young, dynamic team to promote  sport participation through primary school coaching, development centres and holiday camps earning a salary while developing their work skills. Exit Opportunities – Full time career in coaching, overseas coaching, univeristy, sport development, Leisure  industry jobs.

This program is open to applicants of all nationalities. Especially from Africa, South America and the Far East.

What is the application process?

Please see the application procedure page for information on how to apply.

When is the deadline for an application?

We normally like to allow at least two weeks prior to your program start date to organize a place for you.

What qualifications do I need to apply?

Do I need to speak Polish?

Polish language skills are not required. Some of your Polish colleagues will be able to speak English. We ensure that you have an English-speaking supervisor who can act as your mentor and provide structure and support throughout your stay.

Why should I join the program?

It would not be possible to arrive in Poland or the European Union to search for a professional club on your own, and it can be extremely difficult without a good connection. By applying to the Academy you are ensuring that you get a high quality training while keeping fit, well enough exposure, building a sound playing profile, 100 % assurance of geting a professional contract with an european club, good quality accommodation, and that all the pre-departure preparations are taken care of by a team of experts.

We organize the paperwork for your residence visa, which needs to be obtained from the Ministry of Labour with co-operation from the relevant authorities and this is something that most professional clubs do not want to do. We bring you in and offer you to them for trials etc. We arrange your safe arrival into the country by meeting you and your fellow players at the airport, after which you will all be taken to your accommodation, and you will be given a full day of comprehensive training on Polish culture and business etiquette.

You’ll be living and socializing alongside your fellow team mates, who will offer significant camaraderie and companionship throughout the program. You will take part in the weekly social and professional activities that the Academy organizes on your behalf including karaoke, a Polish banquet and football tours in Poland as well as abroad.

Our program takes away any hassle and allows you to focus on your ambitions for your time in Europe.

How much money will I need to cover living costs while I’m in Poland?

The cost of living in Poland varies depending on how you choose to spend your money – residents earn very diverse levels of income and as a result the city offers a huge amount of choice in everything from restaurants to transport.

It is possible to live comfortably on a budget of as little as 12 PLN ($4/£2/€3) per day by eating at snack stalls, taking the bus and limiting your time in bars, but if you eat at Western style restaurants, take many taxis and spend more time out and about, you could spend up to 120 PLN ($40/£30/€34) per day. As a rule of thumb we recommend a budget of 30 PLN ($7/£5/€6) per day during the week and 48 PLN ($20/£15/€12) per day for weekends.

What happens when I land at the airport?

All participants are instructed to arrive between 9am to 9pm on your program start date and members of staff from the Academy will be waiting for you at the arrival gate. If you cannot see them, turn on your mobile so that they can contact you. Your pre-departure list will have the numbers of those staff members who are due to meet you.
